So Julia had the three design new characters for the season, which the gang already knew was gonna happen ahead of time and all already had ideas they hadn’t shared with each other yet.

Anyways, cut to Julia growing more and more distressed as it turns out all three of them made just,, normal ass cats.

Like, I’m remembering Nathan going first and I can literally hear his nervous laughter growing more into just disbelief. Jacob’s just like, “I can’t believe this.” and Karina is all for it, gremlin that she is.

It was pretty tough to do, but the former brozone members had finally managed to corner and confront John Dory.

They didn’t want to scare him off, but they had something they really wanted him to see.

It’s Floyd that steps forward. His hands are behind his back and JD has to stop himself from tensing up. It’s just Floyd. You’re fine.

His younger brother smiles, extremely gently, as he gets to a point where he’s standing directly in front of John Dory, “John, we know you’ve been.. struggling. Lately. After everything.”

There’s a beat of silence.

“We wanna help you, John Dory. But I know there’s some things we can’t help with. Sooo..”

Floyd brings his arms around front, his hands concealing something, “We got you something that we think might help.. make you feel better? Maybe?” His smile turns shaky the longer he speaks.

John stares at Floyd’s hands for a moment before nodding slightly, “..ok?”

Floyd nods back, “Ok. Hold your hands out.”

John does so, and Floyd very slowly moves his hands to slowly reveal a little bug-like creature. It seems to perk up the second it spots John Dory, scrambling out of Floyd’s hands and into his.

John Dory stares in pure shock and awe as the little animal jumps up, placing its tiny paws on his chest and making little excited yips at him.

John can’t move.

“S-Shit, John? Are you ok?”

“I knew this was a bad idea! I tried to tell you guys-“

“S-She’s so tiny.”

His brothers immediately go quiet.

John lifts his hands up, slowly, to his face. The little armadillo bus lets her excitement be known through more yips and wiggles as she jumps onto his face and starts licking it. John Dory can’t help the little giggles that pour out of him as the little creature slobbers all over his face.

“Hello beautiful.. what’s your name?”

His voice is softer than his brothers have ever heard it. Branch speaks up this time, “She doesn’t have one, we- uh- thought you might wanna name her?”

John glances over at Branch with such a fond expression that the youngest brother pretty much freezes entirely.

“Thank you.. thank all of you so much.”

Branch:

- He is not a fan, and also he just does not understand how his brother’s tastes could be that questionable.

- Gives Chaz the shovel talk

Bruce:

- He’s confused, but he’s not gonna judge too hard. Gives JD a lot of shit though, he thinks it’s hilarious.

Clay:

- Tries to act like he doesn’t care, but is secretly very protective.

- “Clay if you stare any harder at the back of his head you’re gonna burn a whole through it” “Good.”

Floyd:

- He’s,, worried. All the two seem to do it bicker, and Floyd worries that Chaz only brings out the worst in JD. But he’s gonna do his best to be supportive.

- Also gives Chaz the shovel talk

I like to think they’d step in at any sign of things actually being bad, but for the most part it seems to the others that Chaz just likes to tease JD for his reactions.

John Dory:

- Likes to act like he hates the guy, is secretly down bad.

WEEHEHE I was wondering if someone would ask about that!!!

So I don’t have the idea fully nailed down (and I just completely forgot to mention it in that one ask *about* his scars 😭😭) but it does have to do with that time Floyd was a target.

So what I’m thinkin is he lets Floyd get away on purpose (Floyd does not know it’s JD, or that it’s a hitman after him. he just thinks he’s being stalked for a while) and he’s never,, missed a hit before.

Big boss doesn’t take it very well. And I mean, you don’t get to be in charge of an entire underground organization without knowing a few things yourself. So, I think his boss is the reason for that scar.

Tbh it nearly killed him. The boss even considered letting him die, but ended up deciding he would be more valuable alive. At least for now :]

How does everyone react/feel about JD being a hitman and him being so different from the brother they knew

I am sorry for taking a while to get to this but man I am so devastated by this question - especially the last part. And I wanna do right by it so I’ve been thinkin about it really hard.

I’m putting it under the read more, not just cause it got long, but it also got kinda,,, sad haha.

Here’s what I’m thinking!

The whole Floyd situation goes by a little too quickly for anyone to really,, acknowledge John’s scars. Like, I know for a fact that they all clock them, when they see him. But,, I think they’re a little to distracted with trying to find each other and save Floyd to say anything.

So, I’m thinkin that not long after they save Floyd and he recovers, they all confront JD about it.

Just very much a, “We’re just worried about you John, you’ve.. changed so much. And we wanna help you!”

“What? And you guys haven’t changed? It’s been twenty years! We’ve all changed!”

“That’s not what I meant and you know that!”

Que a big fight where John Dory gets extremely overwhelmed and finally can’t hold it in anymore and bursts out with, “I’ve killed people, ok? Is that what you wanna hear?? That’s what I’ve been doing!”

Dead silence.

“Is that.. how you got those then?”

…

“Not.. all of them.”

And at their silent prompting, he starts explaining his scars. Which leads to him explaining the entire situation. And his brothers are devastated.

They nearly take off to the city to try and kill the boss once JD gets to the scar on his neck.

Once the truth is out, the four become very protective over John Dory - much to his chagrin.

Can you imagine your whole deal being that you’re the oldest and you protect your youngest siblings but you never let anyone help you, and suddenly your baby brothers are jumping to your defense at any potential inconvenience - no matter how small?

Branch doesn’t fully forgive him - hell, she still doesn’t fully forgive any of them for leaving her behind - but she feels like she understands John Dory a bit more now.

Bruce is horrified that his only older brother - his best friend growing up - had gone through all this. He’s aware that of the five of them, he’s likely the one who had it the easiest, and he can’t help but feel guilty about it sometimes.

Can’t help but feel guilty for giving John the cold shoulder when they first reunited.

Clay has so many mixed feelings about it. Seeing his oldest brother so,,, broken, for lack of a better word,, crushed him.

For so many years, John Dory’s been this untouchable, cocky asshole in his mind. To find out that he’s not so unbreakable,, really throws everything Clay thought he knew out the window.

He doesn’t fully forgive John Dory, but he’s not so mad at him anymore.

Floyd is ruined by the news. Especially when he finds out about the neck scar.

He can’t help but blame himself, cause if JD hadn’t let him go then that boss never would have… God he could have died and Floyd might have never known.

“Is.. is that why you’ve been avoiding me?”

Floyd cries. He cries about it a lot. He encourages John to cry as well - to varying levels of success.

He tries to make up for it, much to John’s confusion. It’s a very one-sided blaming haha,,
