darkqua starter // for @zerodcwned ( vanitas )
it’s strange, she can’t help but think, that not so long ago she had utterly despised him. it was one of few dark feelings she’d allowed herself to have at the time - that unbridled, frothing loathing that consumed her every time she saw him, each time they had crossed blades. and now they were expected to work together ? while her ire with him had certainly lessened, she by no mean cared much more for him now.
it’s this feeling of mild indifference that has had her silent during most of their travel. she was not thrilled to be pulled away from her own agenda to go out on some mission, but apparently it was “ vitally important. ” fancy talk, she mused, for no one else would do it, or no one else could handle it.
“ i don’t know about you, but i have never been more eager for a mission to be over, ” she complained, pulling idly at a thread in her sleeve. “ this is grunt work, not stuff for wielders like us. ”

truth be told , DAMSEL IN DISTRESS might be pushing , especially with how she handled herself . a bow would normally fall under PRIMITIVE , but there’s absolutely nothing archaic about the sort of ammunition she uses , or the TECHNOLOGICAL BEASTS that just ambushed them . ❛ HUNTRESS might be more fitting . ❜ or warrior princess .
❛ you’re welcome , though .. i doubt you needed my help . it looked like you had it under the control . ❜ she carried herself with the gait of someone used to FIGHTING , but he knew the strain of dealing with an overwhelming number of ENEMIES . eyes drift to the fallen machines , curiosity taking over . ❛ you deal with them often ? ❜
Aloys, which option do you play for Aloy’s personality?
Do you play your Aloy with the heart, fist or brain option or a mix-- or none at all? Need to know for science.
@zerodcwned @horizonhuntrcss @focuslinked @aloy-the-seeker @eksail and any Aloys I missed.

eyes are still sharp with attention paid to their surroundings , scanning & & sweeping for threats & & curiosities alike out of a habit coded into genetics that she has yet to break . SHE MIGHT NOT BE HUMAN BUT AT LEAST SHE HAD HER MEMORIES . ❝ let’s go this way . ❞
ALOY
Brows lightly arch themselves, facial muscles go into decline until reaching her lips, corners curving into a frown as HAZEL turn somber as she felt Jill’s hands clasp over her — not even a GLANCE. There’s no response, her best attempt at not allowing any waiver of emotion to slip through — she swallows hard, releasing what lump choked in her throat. However the huntress could feel her chest fighting back to release the PRESSURE.
Aloy never allowed herself to show vulnerability; especially emotional. For most of her life, it remained locked away, under a thick layer of STONE skin & harsh atonement: above all her resentment & hate towards the Nora — showing any sign of weakness, they’d know they WON: their words burned through her like fire.. at some points, like Larsa’s spitted hatred, had even caused such pain to be public. The girl thought best to just keep her worries & guilt to herself.
Aloy was coming unraveled under Jill’s fingertips, though her body remained as rigid as the stone walls of the cave they’d taken refuge from the rain in. A blind man could see just how flimsily she stood up against actual questioning, like a cracked piece of glass that’s holding up until some uncaring child ran their finger over the veins. Jill wasn’t surprised. Not once before now had she seen Aloy crack. Her hands squeezed -- she could tell I don’t want to talk about it at a glance.
(But how often did Aloy have someone to talk to?)
Jill turned to the dwindling makeshift campfire and tossed some of the dryer leaves they’d scrounged from the back of the cave into its flames. She scooted back, leaning against the wall at Aloy’s side, and replacing the kalimba in Aloy’s hand with her own, fingers lacing with Aloy’s and squeezing gently.
“D’you want to talk? We have nothing but time.”

Orisa hadn’t been active for a very long time. Since the end of civilization, Efi had thought to save her from being decommissioned. Now without Efi to guide her Orisa found herself somewhere... else. Efi hadn’t thought to install a global map, as Orisa had mainly supposed to stay in their home city. Now she roamed storing the data to turn into a proper map for when she’d attempt to find her old home.
However the noisy bots around the area seemed determined to turn her into scrap. Ignoring her attempts at being friendly with other Omnics.
Orisa stopped gunning down the grazing robot to turn to the woman who’d helped her survive the encounter. She ‘smiled’ in a loose sense of the term her eyes forming ^ ^.
“Hello. Thank you for your assistance.”
