A little fanfic as contribution to Zero's Appreciation Week!
I have no experience with writing (neither in general nor ffs), but I hope you'll like my cheesy story!
Since peace had been established between the Black and the Red Army, they agreed on taking turns with tasks in the Central Quarter instead of having both armies doing them parallely to increase staff capacities for projects which would benefit the prosperity of the country. This year, the Black Army was in charge of securiting the city during the New Year's celebrations. So as Fenrir would be patrolling with his unit, Zero wouldn't need to move out and got the day off.
"What would you like to do?", Zero asked MC. "We've been invited to the Godspeed New Year's and Peace Party, both Red and Black Army officers will be there. Do you want to go?"
"I bet it will be so much fun! The food is always delicious at their parties and everyone will surely be in high spirits. But ...", a frown replaced her smile. She looked at Rico, their pet dog, and then to Zero. "Rico would be alone and I'm afraid he might get scared because of the fireworks."
"Yes, I was thinking the same. So, MC, would you like only the three of us to spend New Year's together?" Zero asked with a gentle expression. "I know a lodge not far from here, and there is a hot bath as well."
"A hot bath?", MC repeated excitedly. "Oh, that would be so nice, especially now that it has been so cold lately! But - is it okay for you? It's a rare opportunity for you to be able to celebrate with the other officers."
Zero put his arm around MCs waist and pulled her close. Passion lit up in the depths of his clear eyes. "I want to celebrate with you. As long as I have you, I am fine with whatever plans we make." He placed a quick kiss on her lips, then gazed into her eyes which had widened in surprise. His in return narrowed with longing. "No, that's not quite right. Tonight, as a selfish request, I want to keep you all to myself. MC, would that be okay?" His face drew closer to her. She nodded, her body weak in his arms as result of his sudden confession, and she wrapped her arms around his neck. He kissed her again, the kisses growing deeper and deeper.
Suddenly she struggled against him, parting their faces.
"But - the fireworks! You'll miss them" she exclaimed.
The flash of confusion on Zero's face disappeared, leaving him with a broad smile instead. "I can see them in your eyes just fine" he replied and his voice and kisses were full of affection as they tightened their embrace once more.
