Zero Master discovers a way to kill the Icon of Sin in a pacifist run. You know, that thing previously thought absolutely impossible.
It’s tool-assisted, so it would be extremely difficult (if not impossible) to do in a normal run. But it’s a thing now.
The previous speedrun record for Nightmare has been broken, with Zero-Master improving on his previous time by nearly a minute. The 21-minute barrier for Nightmare runs gets closer and closer!
Zero Master has once again broken the world record for Doom 2 speedruns, completing Nightmare in just barely under 22 minutes. The 22-minute barricade has officially been broken, now the race begins for the 21-minute barricade.

Zero-Master does that thing where he invalidates all known UV Max speedrun records so far again.
MAP15 has been an interesting little anomaly in Doom 2, as there’s a secret that’s technically a secret but is impossible to normally trigger without cheating. So the maximum possible secrets considered for speedrunning purposes (and even just general UV Max purposes) has been 90%, up until now.
However, by using a Pain Elemental to just nuuuuudge him a little bit, Zero-Master has discovered that, yes, you actually CAN get this secret. Whether this will affect UV Max speedrunning from now on (let’s be honest, Doom monster AI is notoriously finnicky) is going to be interesting to see.
Another world record broken. After eLim has previously established his staggering runtime at 18:45, ZeroMaster has practiced and trained for months and finally managed to shave off even more time for 18:40, providing a new world record speedrun for Doom 2.
Not too long ago, a below-20-minute run was considered impossible, but these two giants going head-to-head will continue to complete the game faster.
