Anthony - a male cat (Half) Thiren sporting black hair and golden eyes dressed in a standard-issue PubSec officer uniform - took yet another deep sigh, clenching his fists before loosening them.
For the past couple of months, he had dealt with a number with cases that, while irksome, were nothing noteworthy and would be suitable only as cheap gossip filler. Vandalism, petty thefts, teenagers trying out ill-thought out stunts they saw on social media, the list goes on...
But the dark-skinned human woman with long, black curly hair sitting across him in the interrogation room? It was bad enough that she wasn't treating him with the seriousness an officer of the law would expect from a civilian, but half of the stuff she said hardly made any sense.
"Look, Ms. Lin," Anthony said. "I'm not trying to give you a hard time here, but what you did to the suspect at the DeVrys' residence still went beyond what could be considered acceptable self-defense. It's bad enough my colleague had to listen to his complaints during the ride to the hospital, but now he's demanding compensation for emotional damage and risk of permanent disability."
