Well yes, Aku himself is a very materialistic monster. He thinks everything belongs to him, so giving someone else something is a huuuuge gesture. Why would you give someone else something that belongs to you, if you didn’t trust or love them to some degree?
Like at that point you’d know he was really trying; trying to understand, to learn, to show affection, to earn trust, to gain favor, etc.

i noticed the tag was blowing up with salt and shit........i’m sad that i missed the memeing, but people should chill a little. rick and morty fans will have to wait months before they get another episode, so in the end the samurai jack fandom gets the last laugh, stop being dicks about it. i mean, i like rick and morty even if it is reddit the show and nowhere near samurai jack for me. a lot of other people are fans of both. i’m happy that they aired the first episode of season 3, a lot of people in adult swim’s livestreams ask about it constantly, so maybe this will shut them up for two seconds lol
