Zayn didn’t think he was loud enough to disturb the young girl but he still obliged to move into the other room as to not have this conversation near her, something he wanted as well. He was on the edge of his nerves and his hands were shaking as they bunched together in front of him. A child was always something he wanted but this was not the way he expected. He needed to know first, and everything else in his life would be handled then. “You told me she’s mine…” He laughed sarcastically, no words she said would hide how much the girl favoured him. Personality and looks wise. “But I don’t believe you, Nico. I don’t think you believe you either.” He followed the model’s move and looked around the corner to the light haired beauty, she looked a lot like Nicola in many aspects, but it was obvious that she had similarities to the Bradford born boy as well. “I already have someone lined up, she doesn’t have to know it’s happening and it’ll stay a secret, just let me do the test. I want to know if she is mine.” Zayn furrowed his eyebrows together and he could feel his heart beating harshly inside of his chest. The little girl already held a place for him, every small second he spent with her he was more than happiness. He felt connection to the toddler, she made him feel happy and alive, he wouldn’t deny that. “Please, just let me have something of hers. It’ll only take a day.” He wouldn’t let her speak before he got everything he had to say out, but now he was calm and quiet, and just praying for her cooperation to come about. There was a little desperation for her agreement in his eyes, he wanted this to happen, for some kind of peace of mind no matter the outcome. They would both gain something from knowing, he knew that. He knew the woman he was with would take it harshly, but she loved him and would accept the things life threw at them. He hoped.

Zayn shook his head as he sent the text. He had contemplated in his mind for weeks the possibilities that Lilya was in fact his daughter and that was something he truly wanted to knew for sure the answer of. Sutton already had her suspicions and after any of his friends even took a glance at her photo it was a question in their minds. The thing he had with Nicola was nothing more or less than a drunken hook up that meant nothing to either of them, but he wanted to know if having a child was in his future. He knew already the woman he wanted to spend the rest of his life with, Sutton, and she was everything he saw in his future. But, it was easy to know that if the small girl he was already attached to shared his genes, he wouldn’t give up any time he could be around her. Zayn knew what it was like to be a father by growing up with three sisters and an absent father, being absent was nothing he would make his own offspring experience. He loved his sisters and he loved taking care of them, if he had even a shed of opportunity to do that for his flesh and blood he would jump at the chance. The only thing that held him back in the past was the woman he loved, and the constant skepticalness she had even with Zayn wanting to know the child as a second cousin, let alone a daughter. He had his plan and his speech in his mind as he stepped up and pressed his finger against the small doorbell that sat outside of Nicola’s door. He was heated and nervous, very aggravated, but once she opened the door he still offered a polite smile and stepped inside. Aside from all things, Nicola was his friend and he cared about her. He wouldn’t string the mystery along more than he had to. “We need to talk about Lilya.” He said hushed, knowing she was close by and not wanting her attention to be brought to the conversation they were having. “I want,” He hesitated “I want a paternity test.” He knew his mate had told him she was sure the child belonged to his departed cousin but he couldn’t shake the feeling that they wouldn’t know for sure until they got one.
