We missed out on Zanillya’s debut single earlier this year, but you can count on it that we’ll be looking out for her releases now that we’ve been thoroughly enamored by her sophomore single, For You. Tipped as one of Holland’s brightest new stars, Zanillya scintillates us with a emphatic, resplendent brand of electronica and pop on her new song, an emotive declaration of self-love. For You was co-produced with Humphrey Dennis (who together with Zanillya are MariaDennis). Textured layers of throbbing beats and harmonic vocal chops permeate the dark dancehall flavored track, which arrives as Zanillya is readying the release of her first EP.  Speaking on the single, Zanillya says: “’For You’ was the birth of our sound. It was the first song where we felt we were on to something special. The song is about knowing your worth, especially when others take you for granted. “We are not following any of the rules of pop music.” Amsterdam based electronic artist Zanillya breaks out from the norm with her globally inspired hybrid sound, blending elements of Dutch electro and Jamaican dancehall into a mix she calls “Carribbean Grunge”. Now she can add Brazil to her list of inspirations - she crossed the ocean to record three new tracks during the Converse Rubber Tracks sessions at Toca do Bandido.
