A man who knows Paulo Dybala well in the form of his old Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has claimed that the player will likely depart Juventus in the winter transfer window.

The Argentine ace made his name under Zamparini’s tenure at the Stadio Renzo Barbera, starring in Sicily for three years before earning a move to Turin in 2015.

However, a combination of recent injuries and tactical choices have forced Dybala to watch on from the sidelines and Zamparini believes his frustration and the club’s eagerness to cash in could lead to him leaving the Italian champions.

“Two years ago, I sent a message to Paulo and I advised him to move to Spain. I told him, ‘go there, where football is played but don’t stay in Italy’,” Zamparini told RMC Sport.

“Sooner or later, he will do that because I believe that Juventus want to pocket the money from his sale so I’m convinced that he will leave the club in January.

“He has several offers and I think he’ll leave the Bianconeri. Juventus have a lot of great players and it is admittedly difficult to play for everyone but not playing Dybala is a mistake and I don’t just say that because he was at Palermo.

“I remember that when [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic joined Barcelona, he couldn’t stand the competition with [Lionel] Messi and he left. Something similar could happen with Cristiano at Juventus.”
