My high liege Zamberries, I don’t know if you’ve been watching chained life (double life with a few twists) but may I beseech you with the brainrot of:
System glitch and even though zam is done with chained life series- he accidentally gets gets chained with fruit while he’s visiting hbg hq for a quick rest stop (WOOOF WOOF I WENT INSANE OVER YOUR ABO FIC). Zam is horrified and so anxious that he might cause fruit harm which is a very different interaction to his partners during the season where he was very much dancing with their life on a tightrope. Fruit is at first shocked but quickly finds it very amusing. He’s so good at everything and independent that things can get a bit boring sometimes but now worrying about the extra damage is exciting, it’s like a fun game. Eventually Zam realises that he doesn’t have to worry and relaxes a bit because the fruit berries is his safety net and they have fun with flirting with death (and each other). Except one day, fruit is out on a run and gets surprised with by a creeper and dies. When he respawns alone zam and before he can even get a word in, zam is immediately taking care of him “oh my god are you okay- who would dare touch the great fruit berries, take my gapples- all of them. Eat eat eat.” And fruit is so not used to people worrying about him- he’s the independent one, the reliable one. But it’s nice. Really nice and his chest starts getting tight and he’d dismiss it as a symptom of just exploding but he knows deep down that it’s not. Because when the creeper flashed, his first thought wasn’t regret for not having his shield at hand, frustration for being distracted (by ykw🥰) but unadulterated terror for zam. It’s not just extra damage, it’s a whole other person, it’s zam and that means more than it should.
i haven't watched chained life bc i was IN statesmp and the degree of separation is nonexistent but HOLY SHITTTTT HOLY MOLY THIS IS FIRE.
