And we meet new characters. Zaima and Elif, who are cousins and only 4 years apart. Elif is the older one and a guardian and Zaima will become a bearer of a magical tattoo a little later.

There was one thing Elif loved about being a guardian: she was allowed to fill her apartment with books, and no one could say anything against it. The peace that came with it was even better. The silence was disturbed when the doorbell rang. A glance at the clock said it was almost eight o'clock in the evening. A little confused she opened up and found Zaima in front of her with a facial expression that spoke of several mental murder attempts. "What's wrong, little one?" "Erkan and Yusuf are driving me crazy. I can't study like this. Can I stay here overnight? I have an important exam on Friday. "That bad?" "Mom already took the TV out of their room because they don't want to listen." Elif raised her eyebrows. Her aunt was a very relaxed woman, so the boys must have overdone it. "Come in. You're lucky, I forgot what time it is and haven't eaten anything yet. The way you look, you could use something." "Even if it's just to get rid of the frustration," Zaima laughed and put her messenger bag by the sofa. "Pasta or pizza?" "Pasta, with cheese." Elif had to smile. The statement made it clear how annoyed Zaima was. "Make yourself comfortable and learn. I'll be in the kitchen." "That's all I wanted," sighed Zaima from the bottom of her heart. While she was twirling in the kitchen, Elif made a mental note to herself that she had to find a way with her uncle and aunt to calm the boys down so Zaima could study, otherwise she would become a permanent guest for the rest of the school year. Even if she didn't mind, but Erkan in particular had to learn at last that not everything went according to his stubbornness.

The deep expanses of the North Sea lay before Zaima like a promise of an eventful future. She had not only grown physically since she had last been here on vacation. So much had happened. Lost in thought, her right hand went to her left shoulder. Even if she couldn't reach the tattoo of the fire bearer, she knew it was there. Her mother had had hers on her upper arm and it was up to Zaima to continue the tradition. Whether she was ready for it, she didn't know, but that's what she had come here for. The sea has always helped her sort her thoughts. "I missed this," she sighed into the wind. With her eyes closed, she held her face in the increasing wind. She had been to the North Sea often enough to know that it would be better for her to return to the vacation apartment soon. Her mother, Elif and all the aunts and cousins were already waiting for her, Zaima was sure of that. They had all come here to celebrate her naming as a tattoo bearer. A light smile appeared on her face as she thought that she would probably come back for a buffet that would be the size of the breaking of the fast on Ramadan. As long as there were enough kanafeh, she was there. After a deep breath, she stretched out and set out on her way.
