HOUSE Manifesto No. 0219 - My introduction to Zaha Hadid was through a book profiling her paintings my Architect father kept in our family library. From there my admiration for her flourished, referencing bits and pieces of inspiration from her through motivational sound bites & of course her legendary portfolio of projects. At some point during my design career I experienced the ‘six-degrees of separation’ association with Zaha, the closest I got was to her concept design proposal for her Dubai Opera House project, commissioned by a real-estate development firm I worked for in Dubai. It was the most spectacular presentation I have ever reviewed, & the most un-literal drawing set I’ve seen, it was a work of art … Lesson learned Zaha, Thank You.
