25) For disturbed characters, does your muse have any redeeming qualities?
I’d like to think that Wellson/Kestrel does … further, I’d like to thank that all of my characters do, to be honest. Redeeming qualities are what grants characters their depth. Even Osprey, a career expert marksman, plays with ladybugs on occasion – she hasn’t lost sight of the ability to see something wondrous in the World (of Warcraft).
But, getting back to Wellson/Kestrel. He loves, and loves deeply. He is terrifically (somewhat creepily) patient. He shows fierce loyalty to the people in his life. Indeed, in the events following his death/forcible disappearance, Wellson left all of his properties to his friends and family (except his ex-wife… it’s complicated). With the remainder of his fortune, he established two permanent trust funds. The first trust fund was created to ensure that his proposed Primary School could be built, and the second carried the intent to fund an educational program allowing nine, hand-picked orphans of Northshire the chance at an education revolving around literature, the arts, military strategy, mathematics, and leadership. Wellson believes that education is the single greatest thing that a person can do for themselves, because it is through education that equity can be established and nurtured.
Oh, and he whole-heartedly embraces Elune (that has to count for something…)!
Perhaps these are redeeming qualities… I’d like to think so.
Thank you for the question. :-)
