Please answer the following questions in the voice of your selected character.

Why do you believe your wand chose you?

‘Cause the phoenix is an independent creature, and so am I. It’s only fitting that the personality of my wand would match with mine. It’s stubborn, and I’m stubborn. Plus it has a mind of it’s own sometimes, which is super irritating, and a lot of people say that about me. I truly believe that me and my wand are kindred spirits. The wood is like…unbreakable, too. Just like me. Nothing can break me, and nothing can break my wand, apart from maybe a saw… That could destroy us both.

Do you believe you were sorted correctly?

At first I didn’t think I was, 'cause I’m way bubblier than a lot of Ravenclaws I meet. I thought that the Sorting Hat would throw me into Hufflepuff, maybe Gryffindor at a push. I never expected to be put in the house that everyone, including myself, classes as the 'smart’ and 'geeky’ house. I’m glad I was chosen to be a Ravenclaw, though, because now I see that it’s definitely the right house for me. Sometimes I feel like my peers still don’t believe I belong here, but it’s whatever. I’m a proud Ravenclaw, and I wear my tie with pride.

When casting the Patronus Charm, which happy memory would you focus on?

I focus on the first time I got my cat, Noctis. He was left in a box in the gutter, and when I found him, I knew that he’d be my friend for life. I’ve only had him a couple of years, but he’s always there to lend an ear when I have nobody else to talk to death. I’m really glad I could bring him to Hogwarts, otherwise I’d be too sad to ever cast my patronus. He really is the greatest. People say dogs are mans best friend, but I disagree. It’s definitely cats.

How do you feel your time at Hogwarts has affected you as a person?

I think that it’s made me a better person! Before I came to Hogwarts, I was sorta at a loss for what to do with myself. I’m way chattier than my family, so I never really had an outlet for all my excess energy. But coming to Hogwarts meant that I had a lot to do. Plus there were so many new people to talk to, that it was overwhelming at first. But once I got settled in, I started to feel like this place is my home. I wouldn’t ever want to be anywhere else. It’s made me braver, stronger, more confident, and brought out skills I didn’t even know I had, like being an awesome beater on the Quidditch team, and working on the radio. Without Hogwarts, I wouldn’t be who I am today, that’s for sure.

Why do you believe your wand chose you?

Lemme see, I think my dad said something about poplar wands liking people who know their minds and stay their course. Something about morality, I think. I think phoenix feathers are really rare because they’re picky. I guess the whole poplar thing makes sense. I’m honest and I say what I think and I don’t really waver once my mind’s on something. Dad said I’m way too stubborn sometimes. So maybe there was just a match? And well, the phoenix feather… I like a challenge and who knows, wands could sense that or something. Does it matter? It’s my wand.

Do you believe you were sorted correctly?

Nah, not at first. I mean, I was relieved I wasn’t a Slytherin, like Jeremy, but I guessed I kind of assumed I might be in Gryffindor. I can kind of charge into things sometimes. Dad was in Ravenclaw so it kind of makes sense. And I have a really good memory. I can remember a whole lot of useless things. Like the stuff with the wands or that Dumbledore came up with 12 uses of dragon blood - though maybe that’s just because I eat too many chocolate frogs. I’m not really that much of a reader or anything, so I guess I don’t think I always fit what a Ravenclaw is. Not like Zoe or Becca. But hey, I’ve heard Becca talk my ear off my whole life and I guess I kind of talked her ear off so maybe that’s why I can remember all the stuff I can.

When casting the Patronus Charm, which happy memory would you focus on?

Well, I can’t cast one yet. Those are a lot harder to do than I thought they would be. But uh, I mean, I guess when they gave me the emcee job for HWN. It’s nice, no one tells me I’m talking too loud or I should shut up and I get to say whatever comes to mind, I mean as long as it doesn’t offend people too much and sometimes it does just a bit, but like not so bad. I mean, I think the only time I really got detention for something I said was when I said I thought the Newspaper deserved to be thrown in the fireplace. I’m still not sure why Wesley got that upset, it kind of does. Who wants to sit and read the paper anyways? People expect you to be quiet when they’re reading and that’s no fun.

How do you feel your time at Hogwarts has affected you as a person?

I guess I’ve become more confident? I don’t know, I don’t think it’s changed me that much. I still have 3 more years after this one, so I kind of expect my growing as a person and yada yada yada to happen then, not now. It’s cool to be able to do Quidditch and Dueling club and to be around other people and to make friends that aren’t Rollo or Zoe. Or Becca or any of the others. It’s new and exciting even if there’s too much homework sometimes.
