     areum can’t find time to herself anymore between her students and her parents. it’s not as though she doesn’t enjoy what she does, or doesn’t have love for her mother enough to want to take care of her. it’s just in between those moments, ones reserved for herself seem to go by so quickly that she can never catch her breath –– or finish her book. areum barely even knows she’s stressed, that is she wouldn’t really know what to do if she was aware of it. 

—— ✦     regret filled her as she struggled to carry all the bags of shopping she had, the last few blocks to her home turning into a sweaty hell as she felt her fingers go numb and that distinct pain in her lower back start up. groaning audibly, ahri allowed herself to set everything down into a shameful pile around her, flexing her raw fingers a few times as she just crouched on the sidewalk, trying to remember why she’d waited for long to get her shopping done in the first place.

           ❝ i’m fine, ❞ she answers upon hearing the question, not looking up just out of embarrassment at having been heard. ❝ i mean, i might be dying. but its my own fault, really. ❞

𝚃𝙷𝙴𝚁𝙴, 𝚂𝙷𝙴 𝙰𝙿𝙿𝙴𝙰𝚁𝙴𝙳 & 𝚂𝚄𝙳𝙳𝙴𝙽𝙻𝚈, he was attacked by hunger pangs. he thought of carding his fingers through her silky soft hair, a velvety whisper against his throat & her lips —— god, her lips. professional as iseul might wish to appear, even he was weak to baser desires & haena represented all of them vividly. his palms tingled in anticipation, wishing to find themselves placed against her at a later time.

he was unsure when he found himself out of his seat, sauntering towards his destination, unable to deny the PLEASURE of being in her vicinity. perfectly, haena lingered at a nearby shelf, burning a hole within iseul’s existence. he stepped behind her, loosely gripping at her hand, as she browsed the selection of books, humming a nonsensical tune only they knew.

with eyelids feeling immediately heavy next to her, they slid shut, leaning his head against hers. then her voice settled in his ears, quietly charming in its own way, hand reaching aimlessly towards the top shelf. the notes of playfulness in her voice made him wish to scoop her up & take her away, somewhere just for them two ( he couldn’t deny, wouldn’t deny ).

in that moment, iseul was grateful to be of slightly more than average height. compared to her, he towered, but he would never consider himself tall. but eager to help, he grabbed a book, any random one, & brought it back down to her grasp. his free hand settled on her waist, squeezing it, while his lips pressed to her jaw, a ghosted kiss & nothing more.
