I was going to put this in tags but I need to say it out loud.
Essek is in a position where he should probably go live off the grid at some point very soon, if not immediately after they’re done in Eiselcross. His status back home is a ticking time bomb, especially if Trent decides to retaliate by spreading information about Essek’s involvement in the beacon theft, which is something he could probably do without much trouble now that tensions in the Dynasty are high and rumors are already flying. If they can get along, I think Yussa’s tower is the perfect place for him to comfortably lay low for an extended period of time, and it could be another big layer of safety along with the transmogrification spell if he ends up using it (plus he’d be in a known friendly location where the Nein can still reach him). Yussa, who is powerful, reclusive, and politically neutral, is probably one of the few people at this point who can hide and protect Essek from both kingdoms. Also their characters have such interesting and compelling parallels that I love the idea of a relationship developing between them, even if it mainly happens offscreen like Allura and Kima in campaign one.
