I sewed bias tape to the hem of the lining to act as a channel for wire. And I won bias tape chicken, I didn't have to piece another strip onto it, woohoo!

Then added the wire and stitched the other side closed - and I only broke one needle when I hit the wire! And that was the one I wanted to throw out in the evening anyway, so it's fine. It turned into this monster and was quite difficult to wrangle through the machine, but I did it

With that, lining and outer were attached, I pressed everything... and then decided I probably still have enough time to redo fiance's pure vanilla hat. So I ripped that thing apart AGAIN and took out the eva foam I used as structure so far and instead used this super thick interfacing I got a while ago. Plus wire around the edge of the brim - oh wait, that's where I broke the needle, not during the dress. Here's the brim after I ironed it to bond it with the interfacing

And here's the finished hat! It looks basically the exact same, just that you can see the wire in the brim and that it's much flatter. But it got a little lighter and much squishier/softer, so I hope it'll be more comfortable to wear

Then more hand sewing. For the dress, I sewed down the other side of the binding to the lining so that there's no visible stitches on the outside

Also sewed the bow for the cape into shape, sewed one side directo to the cape and added snaps to the other side

It's wearable like this already, but if I have the time I'd like to add snaps to the side + some ribbon so I can keep it from sliding up towards my neck while wearing it

And with that, she's wearable!! Unfortunately the wired hem thing didn't work out properly, I'm already workshopping ideas to fix it, but it's good enough for now

Excuse the weird crop, it was late and I still had to wash my hair, I felt greasy and gross

Then I finally started on the wigs. Detangled marianne and teased it a bit, but then I got too tired and left it for today.

So now I'm drinking my coffee, stuff I would like to do before we leave today:

- braid marianne's and lily's wigs and fix up lily's bangs a bit more

- glue together the lily headdress

- sew snaps to keep the cape in place

- add the new straps + buckles I got for fiance's super heavy cape to improve the strap/harness situation there
