I woke up the other day full of ideas and thought, what if i dragon beamed Yuichi next? I then proceeded to draw a very rushed doodle of what i reckon hed look like.
Hes so WHITE, ive never sketched out a design so simple and empty and lacking any detail or complexity omg. WHITE. With a smidge of brown to break up the endless wall of white and make it easier for me to actually see him.
I based him on a jackalope, then saw some with bird wings and couldnt pass up the opportunity to draw feathers!! Technically... hes basically just a giant jackalope and not a real dragon, since proper dragons in this AU are extinct and the only ones that currently exist were made by Draxum. Who didnt make Yuichi, so. Imitation dragon C:
Yuichi now exists as a side character :D i got attached to him when i watched his show, and i love the fanon dynamic allot of people give him with Leo, even if Yuichi is often horribly ooc/characterised from scratch/based on a totally different iteration.
Im going to stick with his canon personality from the show, his adhd and comedic ahh fits my plan just fine the way it is. I wont be shipping these two, since i prefer the "chaotic best friends who are a disaster when you leave them alone" dynamic they could have instead.
Them in a nutshell:
They probably meet when Leo gets lost, runs into Yuichi and gets dragged into whatever trouble Yuichi caused, but joins in with the chaos just for the entertainment value. Ends up vibing with Yuichi pretty fast and they have a great time with whatever mess they resolve.
Leos also glad he met someone who can fly around with him, and is stupid enough to join him doing dumb stuff.
School has been kicking my ass but I’ve been able to have some time to sketch and develop some stuff :3
When Yuichi was little he was sent to live with his aunt, a retired war veteran, resulting in her raising him and becoming more of an aunt mom. They didn’t really know how to interact with each other at first but they figured it out. I stayed somewhat true to her original design but tweaked it a bit to fit my preferences, I also need to find her a name :/
