I love Shisui, and it’s so rare to see him paired with someone but your ship with Yugito honestly shocked me! I would’ve never thought of that, I’m more used to seeing Shisui with a Senju, an Uzumaki, or some random OC, I wanted to ask: how did Yugito fall in love with Shisui? In the few illustrations you’ve made of them, it looks like she’s the one who flirts with him more. What does Shisui feel for Yugito?
Also, wasn’t it dangerous for someone with an ocular kekkei genkai (like the Sharingan) to be in Kumogakure, considering they once tried to steal the Byakugan?By the way, Shisui is pretty tall (1.80 m), Is Yugito taller than that?
Ahh! Ty for liking my blog so much! Sorry I didn't reply sooner. I wanted to make a Shisui and Yugito drawing to add, but in the end didn't have time T_T. First of all, I also love Shisui! Idk why I like him so much, but my heart says that one! As for pairing, while I admit Shisui definitely has chemistry with others, which is one of the reasons why he's so shippable, of course I'm not complaining, but I prefer to read fics where it focuses more on his character. He's a very interesting character that was left unexplored. The same with Yugito; I have a feeling she would be really interesting if it focused on her story as well.
As for pairing, I just like it so much, but one of the main driving forces was a fic. I don't have the link, but I still think it's in AO3. Mostly crack, but it made me see the POTENTIAL.
As for this AU. I imagine in a more peaceful (slightly) world Shisui goes to Kumo as a peace ambassador, and there he meets Yugito. Back then Yugito was nice while Shisui was thirteen. Of course there were some complications and many attempts of assassination, but the elders ultimately wanted Shisui to control the two-tailed jinchuriki with his Sharingan. Of course Shisui refuses to and just sees how lonely and nervous Yugito is. He decides that from theyre point on, he'll treat this kid with kindness instead.
At that time Yugito couldn't really control her flames; the flames didn't hurt her, but they did hurt everyone around her. This really affected her when she was young. But meeting Shisui really left a great impact on her. After meeting him, Yugito became more lively and even more daring. In a funnier way, he's technically her first crush and love.
Shisui, though, sees her as the kid he watched over when he was young; he admits he's fond of her, but there are no romantic feelings.
Yugito: Yet.

So there's that.
She's really persistent about what she likes, and she enjoys messing with him. While she's friendly with her fellow Kumo jonin, she's not that friendly towards other ninjas from other villages. Of course the exception was Shisui.
In my AU it's mostly crack, so I didn't think the details that far, but the Raikage was adamant about being civil though theres some assassination attempts. Though there were (numerous), it was mostly a joint effort to better the nation and prevent war.
Aha, I did see his height! But fun fact, when I drew him and Yugito for the first time, I always thought she was taller; she just gave off that vibe, you know? Imagine my surprise when Shisui was taller in canon. But it's my art and headcanon, so I'm still going to draw Yugito taller.
Btw, I call this ship Yugisui!
