Bugsyās Hotel Room
So, we have a box & bits collection. I kinda think every household with children needs one. Big boxes, small boxes, boxes with and without lids. Bits of string, fancy and not-so-fancy papers. Egg cartons a-plenty, random inside-gubbins of technology boxes, twist-ties, you name it.
Ā However, it has sort of taken over the kitchen this summer, and Iām doing my best to be open-minded (YOXO)mom and keep the creative fun flowing. And flow it hasā¦
Ā But where do we stand on this one?
Ā āBugsyā moved in to a wine carton on my kitchen table last week. Well, in fact, he was gently placed onto the top floor of the hotel, to convalesce. (By the way, all tall buildings that donāt look like offices are called āhotelsā in our house for some reason. Too cute to correct at this stage.)
Evidently, Bugsy (the common house fly variety) had somehow suffered a near-fatal fall onto the kitchen floor and was last seen buzzing helplessly with only one flappable wing.
Darling Daughter (three cheers for imagination) created a safe haven for him inside her latest heart-felt creation. Hotel Bugsy. Gulp, safely and lovely dying inside a box on the table from which I had recently swatted himā¦ didnāt have the heart to add that part.

Moving Boxes
Everywhere I look.
Each time I empty one, I shriek with elation. Quickly followed by the shriek of disappointment as I collapse the box. "MOMMY!! DON'T!!!"
Ā Oops. Of course.
We need a combination of already-built-boxes and broken-down-boxes to make the tunnel/rocket/home. Sorry.
Taking the sting out of the move is definitely the joy of disorder in the house. Yep, I've let it go and the kids have loved every minute.
Ā But, where the heckās the "Calgon" when I need it?
(Oh yah, the emptied bottle is now the fuel tank for the rocket).

Just to be in the same sentence as LEGO is a thrill. As a kid who grew up obsessed with LEGO andĀ anĀ adult who still has a huge box of bricks saved for my kids, I still consider LEGO to be the ultimate creative toy.
