⠀ ⠀"a simulacrum of statehood, Belarus is the terminal stage of a ⠀ depressive disorder, and nothing more. i am writing this in the coloniser’s ⠀ dialect, but you wouldn’t understand otherwise (and neither would we). ⠀ ⠀ i am from a place that has to be deserted. ⠀ each true Belarusian longs to come back ⠀ from emigration." ⠀ @yaluam’s translation of my poem about Belarus available in English on my Facebook & by the link in bio [and there’s one more poem, brand new]. Seems highly relevant due to my latest 2 months of reflecting how weird it is being in Minsk (even though during those 8 weeks I’ve been out of my local neighborhood twice, both cycling). Weird – sure, but there’s also so much gratefulness in me living at my parents’ place, spending time with family, being a loving dog & cat mom, most of all – having a privilege of not worrying more than I do about my safety and wellness as much as I would if living alone and abroad. ⠀ It’s being tough af but I’m carrying on by zoom dates, long walks, reading on the balcony, cooking and cycling for a decent coffee once a week. Learning the change of the rhythm was hard enough but now we hopefully get to dance. ⠀ And while you’re here: ⠀ * Мой новый большой материал о дискуссии о харассменте, которую мы провели на факультете в марте — как, почему и зачем — уже в @nineteen.academy; ⠀ * сейчас мы проводим опрос об этике, неформальных отношениях с преподавателями и харассменте для нашего большого исследования, которое делаем вместе с преподавателями. Если вы учитесь/учились в университете в России — будет очень здорово пройти опрос; он на 15 минут и весьма (thought-)provocative. Ссылка также в @nineteen.academy. [критику туда же] ⠀ А сегодня я дописала последнюю, 120-ую страницу диплома и начинаю его вычитвать. ⠀ ⠀ #yoursoftminsk #yoursoftbelarus #notsosoftquarantine #yoursoftстихи (at Minsk, Belarus) https://www.instagram.com/p/CAXsY3ahmWA/?igshid=1jt6zhwsb5rq
