Portraits in ICP
I was organized to shoot this series of photos when I saw the photography of Julia Pirotte in the exhibition of Your Mirror. That was a black-and-white close shot picture showing the expression of model very well with feeling. I was inspired by it and decided to frame every one of us in the same size and made it a collection. The only thing I did was just invited each of our classmate stood beyond a wall, telling them to do whatever they want and recorded their actions. Someone smiled, someone shied, someone looked at the camera, someone showed themselves to me. I enjoyed the time when I shot them, for everyone was natural and we can even feel the characters of each person which were totally different. Then I made this series with colorful figures and B&W background so that we can see all of our 16 people together and focus on the stories happened when I took the photo behind the expressions.
