#NGVI The Krystyna Campbell-Pretty Fashion Gift, showing women’s high fashion from the 1890s to today. 1930s including Madame Gres’ superb columnar gowns. The exhibition is displayed in the C19th-early C20th painting galleries with wit: Madame Gres’ huge 1970s cape partially conceals Jules Lefebvre’s delicately provocative naked La Cigale (he also did #YoungAndJackson’s Chloe), and the camp of naked male statues surrounded by resplendent female mannequins.
