yeah, don't mind me, I'm just stuck on thinking about young Dunk when we meet him in the aftermath of redgrass field. how within moments, we see him endeavoring an act of mercy, trying to put a painfully dying man out of misery. we know Dunk grew up in a merciless place, always hungry and desperate, scrabbling every day just to survive. so tell me whence came that impulse to be merciful in a life filled with privation and constant struggle? I can only see that it came from a huge, kind heart--which is pretty miraculous, when you think about it
