If you’ll notice @awayeknowsflash has gone old school with his pitch delivery from the windup. Ask most people and this way of pitching is out dated and does nothing to help with pitch velocity which is the craze in today’s game even at the youth level. So why would I teach my son to pitch this way? The answer is pretty simple, I taught him to pitch this way because I’m more concerned with him mastering a fluid, consistent, and smooth delivery than I am with him lighting up a radar gun at his age right now. In simple terms, the movement forces him to create energy and timing in a rhythmic fashion that keeps him in a fluid motion and prevents tension within his arm and body prior to the release of the baseball. This translates to a more stress free delivery and a delivery that forces him to use his whole body and not just his upper body and arm. There’s a reason why a lot of the best pitchers back in the 70’s, 60’s, 50’s, and earlier eras of baseball didn’t have all the arm injuries we see now and a lot of that is because back then they used their entire body to deliver the baseball and not just their arms⚾️⚾️⚾️ #studentofthegame #tryit #youmightlikeit #pitching #pitchingmechanics #noarminjuries #longevityiskey #ittakesalittleluckalso #baseball #baseballislife⚾️
