For once in her life Arina actually knew exactly how she managed to get herself into a bad situation. Looking back she now realized that taunting a mutant with the ability to jump between universes was a stupid idea, because now she was stuck in a strange world but worst of all, she was stuck in a world devoid of a wilderness, at least the wilderness she craved. The overcrowded city was a jungle within itself.

She had picked up very quickly that in order to survive she would need to keep her mutant status even more a secret than in her own world, they just didn't seem to exist in this world. She also needed to avoid the law, the judges. Even a small crime such as stealing scraps warranted punishment.

She was very good at not getting caught, which is why she was cursing herself as she pushed her body to run as fast as it could after a store owner noticed her wandering hand,
