The creator of a Revenge Porn site has been convicted and faces 20 years in prison
Ugotposted.com was a revenge porn site where you would post scandalous images of your ex.  This usually occurred because you caught them cheating on you but images and videos were posted for any given reason.  Didn’t do the dishes? You got posted!  Talking to another female? You got posted!
Anyway, the site was an amature, user generated content site that has since been shut down. Â The guy who ran the site, Kevin Bollaert, has also since been found guilty for extortion and identity theft and could be facing up to 20 year sin prison.
More than 10,000 images were anonymously posted between 2012 and 2013 without consent or knowledge of the people in the images. Â Not only were these scandalous images posted, but the peoples names, cities they lived in and Facebook profiles were also often attached to the posts.
You might be wondering where the extortion charges come into play. Â Well, Bollaert, being the smart entrepreneur he is, setup another site where victims of Ugotposted could request to have their images removed for a fee of $350. Â The prosecution claims Bollaert made thousands of dollars from this.
