First Appearance ... (confirmed or misreported ) ***SPOILER*** this post is not meant to spoil plot points or significant reveals. This is to affirm reported first appearances, cameos, deaths, origins and the like that may designate a book as a #keycomic #comicbookkey The second week in a row and Joker’s new Punchline is still rocking the comic world at it core. This divisive new character created by @jamesthefourth and crew has flippers and spec’ers out in droves to capitalize on this new unexpected villain. With #batman 89 revealing the first cameo appearances of #punchline - this issue 3 of #yotv Hell Arisen promised the first full appearance of Punchline. YouTubers, speculators, fans, podcasters, and the like scrambled to be the first to confirm this as the first appearance, even Tynion jumped in through his social media hinting that Batman 92 might offer a more significant Puchline appearance. In my humble opinion this #1stappearance designation of Punchline in Hell Arisen 3 is inaccurate. Although Punchline shows up in five panels and her name is mentioned twice, she never speaks and her presence in this story is barely integral to the over all story. This is for all intents and purposes a 2nd cameo appearance at best. The only argument you can make is the fact that her name is mentioned and other than the close up face shots and the background shots, the final panel she is in, is arguably a decent 1st appearance shot. With all of that said, typical first appearance offerings are in splash pages and the character is integral or contributes significantly to the overall story.
