Evelyn Katherine
I’ve never done an update for Evelyn so I thought I’d do one.
Feeding
Evelyn started on solids a few weeks ago. She has been quite a fussy eater. She keeps pushing the food out of her mouth or refusing to open her mouth. She prefers finger foods and feeding herself. She has about four bottles of formula a day, usually on this schedule: 6:30am, 11:30am, 3pm and 7pm. She has water with her solid meals. She usually has two solid meals a day, sometimes it will be breakfast and lunch, sometimes breakfast and dinner or lunch and dinner.
Sleeping
Evelyn sleeps about 12 hours at night. She wakes up once for a feed and nappy change. She is a really sound sleeper and goes off without any problems. She sleeps in her own little room. Her bedtime is usually 8pm. She has two naps during the day; one in the morning about 9:30am/10am and one in the afternoon between 4 and 5pm. Occasionally she will have a third nap, depending of the day.
Growth and Development
Evelyn currently weighs 13lbs 12oz and is 23 inches in length. She is 3-6 month clothing.
Evelyn started crawling just after turning six months and now she’s always on the go. She is sitting up now and can sit up unsupported for about half a minute before she topples over. She can roll over from front to back and back to front too.
She is learning to reach and pick up small objects. I often find her in the parachute pose where she’s resting on her tummy with her arms and legs in the air. She is learning to hold a two handled bottle in her hands but she hasn’t quite mastered it yet.
She really likes toys that make noises. She loves taping the little piano in the playroom. She shrieks in delight every time it makes a noise. She also likes to imitate sounds.
She has started to teeth and is constantly drooling and sucking things or trying to bite things. I make sure she always has a teether and make sure I always keep a couple in my bag and her baby bag.
She’s a very cuddly baby. She loves being cuddled. She always snuggles into my chest and holds onto me. She never makes a fuss when anyone picks her arm. She just laps up the attention.
