I think people are confusing opt-out organ donation programs that function under the assumption that most ppl would be willing to donate and just don't get around to registering but can easily opt-out, for *cannot* opt-out at all even if they're still alive situations, which are very different
I’m all for “opt-out” systems. But MANDATORY “donation” is...uh...stealing.
Do you have any suggestions for cat trees for a cat with difficulty jumping and no front claws? She's around 8 and was declawed before we got her (we never would have done that) and I'm looking into cat trees, but a lot of them depend on the cat being able to climb up or jump up, and I'm not sure she can do that (ex. I have to lift her onto my bed) are there cat trees out there that could work for her? W
This is actually a great question, I’ve never really thought about it before. I’m going to start by asking if she has other health issues? Because I also have a cat that’s declawed in the front, and he’s about ten now, but he has no issues getting up and down his cat tree or jumping onto the bed. I absolutely believe you that she struggles, but I’m thinking you may want to consider a vet trip. There may be underlying causes as to why she can’t or doesn’t want to jump much. It’s possible that doing so causes pain, either to her feet, which is pretty common in declawed cats, or for some other reason, and pain management could be something to consider.
That being said, I found a few I think could work! My first thought was to find something with ramps, so she could walk up onto the platforms, but it’s hard to find anything taller than knee high… There are a few, though!

And then I found a few less pricey options on amazon. These might work because the platforms are close enough together that she wouldn’t really have to jump, she could step/hop from one to the other.

This one apparently isn’t very sturdy for kitties over ten pounds, so it would depend on the size of your cat. It’s also not very tall. (source)
