hunnigan we're locked out can you open this obscure door.
@yngai : you should lay out foreign intel out like little treats for a cat, it's worked wonders for me
βI love how you think I just have access to that stuff- Or that doing so would actually get her attention. I wanna take her out for coffee, not give her a heart attack.β
The Murua Mountain lodge had an extensive indoor veranda, which provided the best view of the valley below that anybody could want. The town below looked like a diorama model, the train running through it a small caterpillar through the steamed up windows. It's the dead of winter, which meant the temperatures plummeted to their usual negatives, and going outside at night was a death sentence. The light had faded over the Yukon early, as it usually did.
Hunk, Luke, outside his mask, set a thermos down between himself, and his visitor, alongside two deep ceramic cups.
He's an ugly guy in his perspective. It was objectively true. Half his face drooped and squashed inward from some should have been life ending explosion, and corrective surgery wasn't in his cards, offsetting his left eye. His hair was wiry, silver, and short.
"Never thought I'd see you up here."
It's a hell of a thing to be up here in the peaks.
"Ahab sent you."
And Ahab doesn't send people to him, or reach out to much of anyone.
"What do you need?"
He poured hot water for both of them in cups, taking a tea spoon to dig scoops of leaves out of a line of army tins.
-- "And what, prey tell, would you say is your 'specialty.' " Dinner with a business associate is often illuminating. So it frustrates her - though she hides it well, she thinks - when @yngai becomes instead, harder to pin down. She swirls her wine, one eye narrowing slightly while her smile grows that little bit colder.

there have been rumors of a woman in red walking around the streets of the half desolate town claire is currently staying at, just the way she had heard through the grapevine that the same woman in red was seen talking to questionable people who were said to be affiliated to the black market just a few cities previously. now, claire might be naive from time to time - no denying about that especially after the latest fiasco she's been involved with... but this? this is definitely not a coincidence.
gunsight adjusted to see the scene unfolding a few feet from the safe house window she's aiming from, finger on the trigger falters for a moment - a turn of the second target in her direction is all it takes for claire to figure out ada wong once again followed along on endeavours that seem to align with hers. claire waits, watches despite knowing she shouldn't trust so lightly; when the other turns again to smile, a static noise is emitted from her earpiece.
@yngai : iβm sorry, you donβt enjoy being teased?
and here it is, communications jammed and hacked - her instincts right and still claire did nothing to prevent it. "not when it's about buying and selling shit that doesn't belong to the distribution chain." she counters, sniper rifle secured and put aside as they both know claire won't try an impromptu assassination of the spy in the middle of fucking nowhere, southern europe. "you just killed my chance at getting that guy, by the way."
she doesn't expect ada to care, but then again if she's also here then claire must be following a good lead - something to finally rejoice after so many dead end street clues. "you could be kind enough to tell me in person what you're doing here, you know? it's the least you could do, actually."
OUT GOING TRANSMISSION // . . .Β @yngaiβ
So often did he find himself reflecting on terrible memories and more begrudging truths. Kind that choked you in the midst of trying to swallow. Years and years of it now stirred, the water threatening to boil over and scorch him every mission he was sent on. And just as history always seemed to repeat itself, Leon found himself once more in the woman's company. Temporarily sharing the same side of a rusty coin. Who's to say how long this time around. Oh, was he ever going to learn? Perhaps he had. Rather choosing to ignore the lessons being taught. No matter how many times it would burn him. Ever the fool. Desperate to still look at her as a companion he made that dreadful night, despite how bitter it was to look back on now even still.
"You know, I've been wanting to ask you something, Ada. For a while, actually." The silence is crushed between them. Pensive sights settled on Ada. "Want the honest truth here."
"Why didn't you pull the trigger back in Raccoon City? You had me right there." It would have been child's play. A single well-aimed shot from the woman, given the sad state he was already in by the end of the ordeal, would have finished Leon swiftly. Young, foolish, over-caring. His heart being set in the right place throughout Raccoon nearly killed him. It did. Parts of him. Sometimes he wishes that he had. Such selfish thoughts are not vocalized. "It's been long enough. I think I deserve to know."

Personally, I believe the majority of the RPC is afraid of and/or allergic to designing/creating/playing masculine women, regardless of their sexuality but especially butch/stud/otherwise masc lesbians, if they aren't lesbians themselves.
I understand that, tragically, masculine women don't get a lot of media representation and thus, appropriate faceclaims can be hard to find.
However, with all these games like Cyberpunk, BG3, Bio/ware games, etc, where you can customize the player character, there's no excuse not to venture out of your comfort zone and try writing some women who don't conform to feminine gender standards. And! You can even make them... (gasp) a lesbian!
