Commission of Anne Boleyn done for @branloaf, based on the Holbein sketch, and companion to the Mary Tudor piece. Acrylic painting, with the background done in YInMin blue, with the dress a mix of quinacridone crimson and cadmium yellow. 

Here is my new young Mary Tudor piece, commissioned for @branloaf.  It’s inspired by the Holbein sketch of “the Lady Mary,” and her gown features the brand new paint YInMin blue, the first new blue pigment discovered in 200 years. 

Ever since I found out about the newest blue color, #yinmin, and how @crayola had included an homage to it called #bluetiful I've been on a hunt to get the crayons.
