Trina Solar is the world's largest module supplier in Q2/2014 - with chances to keep this position for the full year. The Chinese company shipped 943 MW from April to June 2014. That’s a nearly 70 percent quarter-on-quarter growth from its 558 MW shipment in Q1. It is the highest module volume shipped ever in a quarter - even larger than Yingli Solar's 937 MW shipped in Q4/2013. And it is also 55 MW higher than Yingli's Q2 shipments. Yingli, the former No. 1, has published today that it increased shipments by over 40 percent from 631 MW to 888 MW in the second quarter. However, if Yingli had met its upper target of the Q2 guidance it provided in its first quarter call (870 to 950 MW) it would have kept its first rank. 

Canadian Solar is the new No. 3 after increasing quarter-on-quarter module shipments by nearly 30 percent from 500 MW to 646 MW. It overtook ReneSola (499 MW) and continued to leave both Jinko (571 MW) and JA (446 MW) behind. Notably, ReneSola was the only module supplier of these six US-listed Chinese module makers that shipped less panel power than in the previous quarter.

Looking at the full year 2014, Trina might even defend its newly won position. While Trina maintained its full-year shipment guidance of 3.6 - 3.8 GW, Yingli lowered its 2014 target range from 4.0 - 4.2 GW down to 3.6 - 3.8 GW. More soon.
