When I wanted to go back to Maryland, it was because that was where I was comfortable. I knew people there; my best friend, his family, my brother; I was set. When I wanted to move to Washington, I was settling. I had done my research and Brent's family had already taken me in; I was golden. When my mother convinced me to go to ut Arlington, I settled even though I knew it was dead wrong for me, literally. I wasn't worried about making friends, because I was only concerned with getting in and getting out. My only concern was not committing suicide while I was there and to be honest that didn't frighten me much. I gave everyone a fair warning. If they took me seriously or not was their own problem. I was set. I have known for a few days that I'm officially moving now and I haven't been this excited and terrified in a long time. I always knew that California was beyond my comfort zone. I haven't been legitimately scared of anything in years! I have been living in my perfect little box. This move to California is a great step outside of my comfort zone and even though I am scared, this is the most healthy thing I've done in a long time. Being scared is healthy. It means I have room to grow and conquer those fears. So what if I fail, at least I'm trying and that's more than a lot of people can say.
