"no," she replies, maybe a little too quickly. "do you?" she retorts back as she looks up at her and away from the red yarn (that she’s starting to loathe).
how she ended up joining the other to knit a scarf, baffles her because she hates activities like these. she was never a creative student when she was young. if there was one subject she wanted to avoid was home ec. class. cooking was alright, it wasn’t too bad but when it came to sewing and knitting, she hated it.
"fuck," she hissed as she looked at the knot that had formed around the part she had just knitted.
times did she have to start over to actually start knitting the scarf?
slowly, and with a barely noticeable glint of amusement, sojin’s eyes roll as she sighs. it would be a lie if she said she had not been expecting that very answer from the other. judging by the constant clink and clack of those thin silver needles together, she knows right away that something is not being done right. and with the apparent lack of patience the other female seems to have with the activity, she also knows that a scarf was not going to appear out of the red, tangled yarn any time soon.
around the fourth time the woman undoes the knots in the yarn to start her creation all over from the beginning, sojin begins to pity her. it was clear that she really did not know how knitting was done correctly. thus, she shuffles closer to her companion and assists her in straightening out the yarn for the fifth time, only flinching slightly when tempered profanity reaches her ears.
"you have to have patience to do it right," she informs, grasping the other’s fingers in her own to demonstrate how to properly hold the needles and move them and how to easily maneuver the yarn into the right position once the casting is done. back, wrap it around, pull it forward, and slide off. “we don’t have to do this if you don’t want to. this gets pretty tedious and boring after a while. i really only do it when i’m trying to relax.” shrugging, she laughs and gives a reassuring pat to her friend's shoulder before quickly adding, "plus, i think scarf season is almost over."
