He's almost never anything but straight-to-the-point. "You are neither a formal employee of the Daily Days nor someone with the proper authorization to freely access just any piece of information. The new radio host, in Gustav's estimation, is trouble. Sponsoring the show of 'trouble' had been a decision made both because of his popularity in Chicago and a direct result of that trouble.
A radio host who moved his business up north after being implicated in a particularly gruesome murder in the Bayou. It would have been difficult enough to find work on the radio as it was, what with the general shortage of jobs and the droves lining up to take part in one of the newer forms of entertainment, but implication in murder should have closed off nearly every opportunity.
Of course, both Gustav and the president had believed him guilty. Inviting him had been an informed decision, a means of keeping a close eye. The collection of information, after all, is tantamount, and risks must be weighed when it comes to dealing with dangerous individuals.
"If you'd like to amend the terms of your contract to formally work for the Daily Days, that's a matter I can't resolve for you.
