tragic (non-snarky) how yenatru is so much in the role of 'the girl' in a friend-trio of a shonen manga where the obvious real core relationship is the one between the two rival male friends. but gender swapped. (this is importantly different from 'the boy' in a shoujo manga where the core relationship is the one between the two female friends. eliya/tamar specifically does have similarities to a shoujo relationship but the full trio and its imbalance imo does not.) i say tragic/non-snarky bc obviously this is a subversion but yenatru's subverted-role is clearly the girl-in-the-mmf-shonen-trio role.
