Yellowjackets Stats Over Time

Total number of fics: 2,582
The largest amount of fics updated was in June 2023, May 2023, and October 2023 - 381, 279, and 279 respectively. This was expected since season 2 concluded in May 2023, causing the influx in both May and June. Additionally, since Yellowjackets is a horror show, the increase of fics in October is also not surprising.
The Yellowjackets fandom tag grew rapidly after season 2 aired - 85.5% of fics were updated after the release of season 2.
The total number of fics updated prior to season 2 airing (December 2021 to February 2023) was 376, which is 14.6% of the total amount of fics.
The total number of fics updated while season 2 was airing (March to May 2023) was 490, which is 19.0% of the total amount of fics.
The total number of fics updated after season 2 aired (June to December 2023) was 1716, which is 66.5% of the total amount of fics.
Prior to season 2 airing, shauna/jackie was the top ship every month. This temporarily changed after season 2 aired (from April to September 2023), when lottie/nat became the top ship by month.
Additionally, tai/van was consistently tagged more frequently than lottie/nat prior to season 2. This changed drastically after season 2 when lottie/nat became a more popular ship.

Angst has been tagged more often than fluff in Yellowjackets fics for the majority of the months. This is consistent with a previous fandom stats post I made that showed angst as the most common additional tag. 16.8% of fics were tagged as "Angst". Only 12.7% of fics were tagged "Fluff" (source, please note these stats do not consider tag wrangling while data from this post does).

Percent increase/ decrease of fics from previous month
There have been relatively the same amount of percent increases and percent decreases in number of fics updated. However, the increases have been of a larger absolute value. This is reflected in the average and median listed below.
Note 1: I don't use any programs to gather stats; I use filters to find data. Since ao3 does not have a "Date Posted" filter, I used the "Date Updated" filter. This is fine for most fics, but can be a problem for fics with multiple chapters that were posted in various months. Since the data was collected close together, very little or no double counting is expected.
Note 2: I am an amateur (I failed my first year stats exam lol), so take that as you will.
