I remember that one time I was at a beach with my family + my music teacher and his wife (dad's friends) for a little chill time.

I went to the water, because that's what you're supposed to do at a beach, and ended up getting absolutely obliterated by a wave. Said wave took my handmade genderfluid bead bracelet, (I never took it off because it was a gift made by/with my girl cousins who lived in a far away city, and as such was a treasured memory for me), and I was utterly devastated.

I spent like 30 minutes searching for that bracelet in the water before being urged back by the very concerned adults. And even as I sat in the lil beach towel eating mouthfuls of chips, I (not a child at the time) started just full blown crying and sobbing. Pure unconsolable despair.

My music teacher, in an attempt to awkwardly calm me down, gave me his rock/metal (the style, not material) leather bracelet, a cool one with a metallic skull, as a sort of replacement. While doing so, he told me that Yemanjá (the african goddess of the sea) would give a blessing, since I had "given her a gift".

I had no fucken idea who Yemanjá was until he explained it to me, and even after that I was still very upset......... But not crying anymore! So technically it worked.

I then went back to the sea and processed to find THE BIGGEST FUCKING SHELLS I HAVE EVER SEEN. NOT EVEN JUST ONE, MANY OF THEM. A SIGHT I HAD NEVER SEEN EVEN THOUGH I WENT TO THE BEACH PRACTICALLY MONTHLY.

Mind you I have no idea what I'm doing

And yes I will ignore the hair because they took way too long and oh my goodness I can't be bothered to fix them right now or ever
