"I—" A short, bitten-off laugh, half-lost under a sudden crash of waves. Then, half to himself: "You would hold it like that, wouldn't you."
"What's wrong with how I'm holding it?"
"Nothing, nothing. That'll do. Now you've got to light it."
Skrael levels him a flatly unimpressed look.
"Well," the boy insists. "You do. That's how it works."
