This is such a cool story and it was so much fun to work on!!! There were so many good scenes and I'm happy with how these came out, (I actually did a speeddraw of the second one!) but 10000% please check out the story and the other artists too!!

i was tagged by @rouths​ to tag the last line of a fic i’ve written! it’s a steve rogers x reader fic (called Watch the World Go By) where Steve comes into the modern world and hides that he’s Captain America and this part is between Steve and an original character

“I don’t mean to be rude but were you a soldier?” he asked.

Steve felt his shoulders tense.  “What makes you say that?”

Elijah shrugged.  “I know a few, that’s all.  You remind me of them.  They tend to keep to themselves.  And,” he pointed his finger for emphasis, “I know a guy who works down at the V.A. in D.C. who’s in town, and he’ll be at the little hang out, so I thought maybe you would get along with him.”

Steve’s shoulders relaxed, but only slightly.

“I know I keep beating you up about getting out and meeting people,” Elijah said, hands up in defense, “but I think this could be good for you, especially if my soldier theory is right…which I’m sorry again if asking was rude, man.  I’m just concerned.”

Steve wiggled around in his chair, suddenly uncomfortable with himself.

“Yeah.” He said, his voice so low in the hum of the other employees that Elijah could only hear him because he was standing right next to him.  “I was one.”

Elijah nodded his hand in understanding.  “What rank? Sergeant?”

Steve let himself smile just a little.  “Captain.”
