Hi!!!

Well!!!!

To be quite honest, I've been away from canon content for a pretty long time, so my memory of canon events is pretty rusty (not to mention that I never watched Shippuuden, but I know the story bc of spoilers/asking friends abt it sooo)

But!!!

The gist of it is that ever since he was a little kid, Gaara was seen as a monster by his peers bc when he was born, he had the spirit of a monster (Ichibi no Shukaku, one of the Tailed Beasts from Naruto) sealed inside him. Idr who did it, but I think it was his dad. Anyways. For quite some time, he tried to befriend others, be nice to the ppl in the village, but everyone always saw him as a monster.

BRUH I HAD TO TAKE A MOMENT TO STOP BC I WANTED TO CONFIRM SOME INFO AND HIS STORY IS EVEN SADDER THAN WHAT I REMEMBER. HOLY FUCK. ANYWAYS SORRY. UM

I was gonna say that even his uncle (his caretaker) didn't love him, but apparently he was tasked to test Gaara both physically and psychologically?? And since he was a high ranked ninja, he couldn't refuse this task. He was appointed by the Kazekage, the leader of the village (aka Gaara's father) to do so. He failed that mission and in an attempt to take Gaara with him, he exploded himself, only injuring Gaara in the process and making him even more emotionally unstable

So, for a long time, Gaara was this sociopath who only cared about himself and would hurt anyone who got in his path

That is, until Naruto showed him the Power Of Love And Friendship (simplifying the whole thing skdmdm). He managed to help Gaara have a change of heart. So, he slowly started changing again, even helping Naruto and the Leaf Village in one of the anime's arcs, to retrieve Sasuke (it was a failure, but nvm that sksjdkkd)

In Shippuuden, we learn that Gaara managed to become the Kazekage!! Ppl in the village respected him more and he changed completely, now being a patient and caring leader.

Then again, I didn't watch Shippuuden, so I don't know details. But in one of the first arcs of the anime, Gaara is kidnapped and taken to an organization who wanted to steal Shukaku from him, killing him in the process (and that's why I didn't watch Shippuuden lol. Seeing this scene in a game was enough to destroy me emotionally and I am not going through this again lols 💙). Long story short, Naruto & Co manage to retrieve him and one of the village's elders gives her life to Gaara, reviving him

I don't know much more abt what happens with him in the rest of the anime. I know he helps lead a ninja war and I know that he adopts a kid in Boruto, but that's about it!!

Then there's my own headcanons and stuff, but nowadays, I mostly just enjoy seeing fanart of him and I will always go heart eyes whenever I see him, he's my fav character ever and he'll always belong in my heart 💙💙💙
