This might be obvious but uhhh just a minor detail that I haven’t seen anyone talk about yet
Luz’s magic doesn’t work in the human world and hhhhh I just think we should talk about it I have a feeling that this will be important at some point..
1. SKARA
2. In the end credits eda’s eye is grey in the last ep and I just noticed
3.The stars look BEAUTIFUL oml
Why I wasn’t a huge fan of Young Blood, Old Souls
I thought Young Blood, Old Souls was a good episode. It got really emotional at points, and I honestly didn’t see the ending of the sharing spell coming, and I loved the way it ended on this Gravity Falls-esque cliffhanger. However, I thought Understanding Willow, Enchanting Grom Fright, Wing It Like Witches, and Agony of a Witch were all incredibly good episodes, and in comparison Young Blood, Old Souls felt like a letdown. There are two main reasons and one smaller reason that I wasn’t a fan.
1. Lilith was forgiven way too easily. Y’all, are we forgetting that in AOAW, Lilith threw Luz off of the bridge to her certain death without a second thought? Lilith used Luz’s life as a pawn to capture Lilith. We know now that Lilith didn’t intend for Eda’s curse to be lifelong, but it still doesn’t excuse all of the damage she did to get Eda to the emperor, especially since she could have told Eda the truth at any time instead of trying to take her by force. In YBOS, I feel like Lilith was forgiven by all of the main cast way too easily. She still needs to do a lot more to make up for her actions, and I fear that we won’t see that out of her.
2. Amity was written out of the episode. Now, hear me out. I 100% agree that YBOS was NOT the time for lumity content. As much as I enjoy the ship-focused episodes, YBOS was a much more serious episode and shipping would have felt out of place and would have messed up the feel of the episode. However, this episode was very important for Amity in a way that has little to do with shipping. If Amity had been included in this episode, she would have had to make a difficult choice: the first real friends she’s had in years (Luz, Willow, Gus) or the future she’s spent her whole life working towards (the Emperor's Coven)? I would have liked to either see Amity struggling to admit that the Emperor is doing anything wrong by petrifying Eda (perhaps in a conversation with either Willow and Gus or one with Edric and Emira) or her protesting alongside Willow, Gus, and everyone else. The broken leg seemed like a very forced way to get her out, as I find it hard to belief the healing coven can’t magically mend a broken bone. That being said, I acknowledge that it’s possible Amity was removed because of time, in which case I hope they acknowledge how she felt about YBOS in the first few episodes of season 2.
3. Luz was way too confident with Owlbert. This one bothers me less than the first two, but it seemed unrealistic to me. I love the way Luz was using her glyphs in YBOS. She’s definitely been practicing and she’s learned to apply her four spells in really cool ways. But one thing she has certainly not been practicing is doing magic with a palisman. She doesn’t have one, and the last time she tried to even fly with a palisman (in Escape of the Palisman), she did horribly. Yet in YBOS, Luz is able to fly and do magic with Owlbert as if she’s been practicing for a while. This only happened a few times, so it was nothing major, but it did bother me from time to time.
Like I said before, I thought Young Blood, Old Souls was good. It just didn’t live up to the four episodes preceding it. I know these are unpopular opinions, and it’s perfectly okay to not agree with me, I just wanted to get these out there. Thanks for reading!
didnt even realise luz can (at least) use a staff to activate her glyphs without having to touch them

Why did luz's glyphs not work in the human world?
in young blood old souls we can see luz and lilith fighting in the human world, and we see lilith's magic working perfectly while for some reason luz's glyphs not only dont work but literally shatter
now, it can only be just a thing of the human world not allowing magic to work but then it'd make no sense since lilith can freely cast everything she wants.
it could be that the human world doesn't allow exclusively magic casted through glyphs but it won't explain why they just shatter, bc if something just doesn't work it certainly won't crumble into pieces for no reason at all, am i right?
there's no way that some simple pieces of paper would violently break into pieces if no magic is affecting them.
so here comes my theory: magic is actually working on those papers, but it's not luz's magic. someone else casted a spell, specifically targeting luz's glyphs.
we don't have another human using glyphs in the human world for it to be a certain fact and for us to be 100% sure that luz is the only one who can't do magic in there, but again. the paper shattered.
and then again, witches with natural magic in them do use glyphs to cast magic, they just dont need to write them down.
it still could be that luz simply takes her power from the boiling isles and outside of there she just doesn't have it.
but we're still not going nowhere near the reason to those papers behaviour. like i know im being annoyingly repetitive, but. it's the only thing that doesn't make sense to me.
so, to go back to my theory, someone previously (or even while they were fighting) casted a spell on luz's glyphs (or even on luz herself) to make them useless in the human world.
if the spell's targets were only her glyphs, literally anyone could've casted it. belos, lilith, anyone who just wanted to win against her in that moment.
but if the target was luz, that's another story. witches can't possibly know exactly what to do to make someone (who supposedly doesn't have natural magic) powerless in another world completely different from their own now can they? from what we can tell, witches have no knowledge of the human world, and nobody even understands how luz can even do magic since she's human. they dont know. and even if they knew, they should have a specific spell to do that.
witches cant just do whatever they feel like just moving around their hands, right? that must be the reason there's literally a school that teaches different spells and how to do them and stuff, right?
so it'd make no sense to just do whatever you think possible.
so i've narrowed the possibilities:
1. belos. taking into consideration that theory about belos being human, he could actually do it. bc he does have at least knowledge of the human world and how humans work and could actually find spells that could work.
2. camilia. again, only if our theories about camilia being a witch (even azura) came to be true. the reasons could be multiple and even not meant to be known just yet. we just know she has some kind of problem with azura's books and with luz living with imagination. maybe she wanted to protect her child so she casted that spell on her at some point? i dont really know why she would do that, but its still a possibility.
3. a completely new character? or even someone we've already seen but was hiding the gruesome stuff we never know amirite
so here, this was my theory
