I LOVE this question sm, Aoi and Nene wear such cute clothes in canon and I think abt their outfits all the time

The style Nene wears is called “casual girly,” lots of comfortable and frilly looks that clearly have a lot of thought put into them whilst still being something you could throw on at last minute

Aoi is a tricky case bcuz a lot of her femininity is part of the fake image she presents to the world. When fans think of Aoi’s style, they are likely thinking of all the official arts where she’s matching with Nene rather than considering what Aoi would choose to wear on her own. That being said, when I think of what Aoi would wear, I think of her outfit from the convenience store chapter of ASHK and the fireworks chapter at the end of the Severance arc. Two points in the story where Aoi truly seemed to have her guard down

Aoi especially seems to prioritize comfort with her sense of style. The long skirt and jacket with the convenience store chapter, and the baggy t-shirt at the Minamoto house. I also love how she wore the same hat with both looks. When we see Aoi at her most vulnerable, she’s still dressed quite feminine but she isn’t all dolled up like she usually is. It’s similar to Nene’s style though Aoi’s gives you the impression that she isn’t putting as much thought into her looks

And I love this about Aoi and Nene, it makes them feel very realistic. I take a similar approach to fashion, keeping it cute while still staying comfortable (I dress somewhat similar to both of them tho more on Aoi’s end of the spectrum). There are many female characters in anime where you can tell their outfits were made for men to gawk at, so I love that Aoi and Nene’s clothes feel very personal

I also LOVE how they match outfits in official arts, it’s so cute to me. I hc that they’d be the type of couple to match their outfits on dates (which is already true for their friendship lol). Like just look at these divas

I’ve also seen the goth Nene headcanon in AUs and I absolutely LOVE it. Partially bcuz I’ve always loved goth fashion but also bcuz it really fits with Nene’s interests. I prefer that hc for Sakura/Nene tho bcuz then they can be goth gfs together. However in general it does feel very Nene
