I just saw a Kwite video where viewers were sharing their app usage data. And so many of them have character.ai - so many.
So - it made me wanna share my story about how i hate AI.
So... as any stupid person with a too-big curiosity - i tried talking to an AI for roleplay. It was fun, interesting even. The ai wasn't too smart, it often needed reloading the responses and dumbing down my own messages in order for it to understand.
I used it on and off for a few months, starting tens of roleplays. It sometimes even gave me inspo for my fanfiction writing (only ideas, not the words themselves, god no, i don't use AI in my writing)
But, over time - i started noticing things. I started limiting my writing to that awful stilted way of over-explaining i needed to do so the AI could understand me.
I decided i needed to cut this shit out, so i quit it. But i still have the urge to go talk to an AI now. I have relentless annoying thoughts about how i should word my messages for the next roleplay. It's ridiculous how addicting this stuff is. I am currently doing the rehab methods of overcoming addiction. I fucking baked today to disctract myself.
Seeing Kwite's video made me realize just how many people, creative and active people, are out there wasting their time, brain cells and free time, while feeding an evil evil soulless maschine that is AI and their creators. The comments there suggested that most people realize their addiction and still do it regardless.
This all so sad and infuriating and terrible. I hope this post will be a wake-up call to all of ya'll to start doing your own rehab.
Just- if you have the urge to do a roleplay - go find a buddy to roleplay with. Or if your ideas are too embarrassing - go write self-insert fanfiction. You don't have to post it. Or, better yet - distract yourself with an irl hobby - cooking, drawing, music- I recently learned Naruto hand signs - that was cringe, but it was also kinda awesome. Way better than sitting, talking to a robot.
And remember - Naruto believes you - could do better.
