maybe im weird but i think starlight sequence is one of the most beautiful parts of any musical. not just like visually because visually it's STUNNING but storywise
rusty has spent the entire show thinking there's nothing for him because everything he's done has resulted in him getting hurt in some way, battered, bullied, or other people just telling him it's not worth it because he'll fail anyway
and then at his darkest hour this magical thing comes to him and he realises it IS worth it and to not lose hope and it's all going to be okay whatever whatever because it's been within him the entire time
