y'all ever get so obsessed with a character who has very little known information about them that you end up hcing them to the point they could be an OC, but they're still so rooted in the canon of their source media that making them an OC would be difficult?
Or, even when the hyperfixation on their source media wanes or dies down a bit, they still live in your head rent free? You try to connect them to everything you watch, listen to, play, or read because it reminds you of them? Making AUs, designs, so on?
This is about Arther Payne for me.
Since I ever started hyperfixating on him, I've made about... 9 alternate versions of him, including AUs, different mutant designs, and a faker design.
I've made music that goes with one of those AUs.
I'm a roleplayer, and every time I play a new roleplay game or have the opportunity of it, I'll end up having Arther there.
...Hell, me and my pookie have an oc x canon ship with him that is so tragic but so bittersweet.
I dunno man. If you told me 4 years ago I'd have an angry fish man stuck in my head for what'll probably be a big chunk of my life, I wouldn't believe you.
Funny how the brain works.
Maybe later I'll share some of the AU art stuffs I've done, since that actually makes up a lot of the Arther art I draw.

Not sure how many people will see this, but be wary of any messages from an account named vancemclaughlin. I received a message from that account and was logged out almost immediately after I looked at it. I did not respond, I did not click any links. All I had done was look at the blog to see post history.
As you can see, I was able to get my account back relatively easily, but I got a suspicious auth code text from Tumblr, and I can only imagine that it was an attempt to get into my account.
Be careful.

Decided to put an OC of mine who I'd yet to draw into NINAH for funsies. This was a very fun challenge! I plan on making more stuff for them, too!
If you saw this posted earlier, no you didn't you're a LIAR
Dario (they/he). Haven't come up with a "nickname" (like tall guy, cashier girl, etc) for them yet. If anyone has ideas, share 'em!
Additional notes/fun facts under the cut
Some little notes
As stated by them, their eyes are reflective! A lot of animals that have really good night vision have this trait. I thought it'd be a neat detail to include that for the night version of his sprites specifically, since that little bit of light would definitely make them "glow."
They take up most of the left half of the screen. This is intentional, a nod to just how big they are compared to other guests. Keep in mind that even Bar/Tall Guy doesn't take up this much space, even though he's tall enough to be out of frame.
They're also meant to be hunched over, though I think I screwed up the pose a bit.
Function idea (because I'm funny like that):
As mentioned in their dialogue, they offer to help prevent visitors from hurting other guests in exchange for being let in. At first thought, you might assume they function similarly to the cat, and they actually sort of do! Just in a more helpful way, I think.
You can talk to them at night to ask them to keep an eye out. They'll stay awake during that time, after Protag goes to bed, and will stop a visitor from killing a guest-- but why stop there? They deal with the visitor themself, and will greet you outside the bedroom to let you know they left the corpse by the front door.
They can effectively guard for one night without a break, or for two nights with a full day's break afterward. Once they've been up for two nights, they will be unable to stay up that long again for the rest of the time they stay with you. If they stay up one night, and you don't ask them to stay awake the following night (or have already), they will sleep during that night. If you ask them to stay up for two nights straight, they'll be asleep by the time the third night rolls around.
...and of course, they can still be taken by FEMA, and when they're asleep, they can be killed by visitors. Th
good lord i've been posting lately. it would be a shame if I... stopped for a big chunk of time
again
like I normally do
because this is actually unusual for me
