as a Crazy Bitch™ i dont think people really know what they mean when they say "i want crazy bitches". no you just want to be idolized without ever having to develop the emotional bandwidth or tolerance that is necessary for accommodating a person who may or may not have a mental illness. you want the pleasure of being fixated on without having to take responsibility for it. of course just because someone is crazy doesn't automatically translate to them having a disorder but please. please vro it fucking pisses me off how often i see people just date others solely for their mental health issues.
i can't speak on the behalf of every single person who has a mental illness here cause it's different for everyone, but as someone who has a personality disorder and knows it, i have given people MULTIPLE WARNINGS that i am not an easy person to get along with. i have problems with obsession. i'm constantly on edge and my entire week gets ruined if my favorite person doesn't tell me they love me back. i am always paranoid that the people i care for are secretly plotting against me and that i have to be above their schemes. i think i'm being followed and watched by inanimate objects. literally everyone knows this. i have hammered it into their head that i am prone to fixating on irl people, have varying levels of psychosis, unstable moods, etc and that it can cause real and harmful effects. if someone wants to build a close relationship with me, it is imperative that they establish and uphold very strong boundaries for both their sakes and for mine.
if they don't want to be with me after hearing that, i'm not going to blame them, i know i am not compatible with a large majority of the population. nobody is. actually, i would be very happy if someone could just accept that they don't have the capability to maintain a stable relationship with someone who is inherently unstable in the long-term. but what really infuriates me is when someone tells me they acknowledge what i'm saying and then get surprised when i do, in fact, do all of the things i've warned them about. like hello. have you listened to a single thing i said. why are you shocked that a mentally ill person is behaving like a mentally ill person. i'm actively choosing to be vulnerable (which is already very difficult for me because i'm a naturally detached individual) by telling people what's wrong with me for their safety and this is how they repay me? are you serious.
if people are gonna say "i want crazy bitches" then don't be surprised when the bitch is ACTUALLY crazy. they are quite literally asking for it. people who are genuinely struggling with real issues are being turned into caricatures for entertainment and validation and it's disgusting. when are we going to stop fetishizing people who have really debilitating problems and are in need of support. my god.
