Two years ago, I came up with the Yammys, an award show based on the best posts on Yammer. At the end of each year, I would host a show that rewarded my co-workers for participating and engaging with one another on Yammer. It was something everyone looked forward to, so much so that I'd argue that it kept people more active on Yammer throughout the course of the year. Receiving a Yammy nomination for a thoughtful, funny, and/or insightful post was highly coveted and held in top regard. I suggest any company that uses Yammer to communicate with one another adopt some form of the Yammys. It's a great way to promote cross-office collaboration while having some fun with one another.
