poison ivy
there's poison ivy in the garden.
that was something that was practically always there - everyday Maryelle would wander around her garden until, of course, they started growing. they climbed up the trees and ate up the happy flowers.
at first, Maryelle was quite disgruntled about it. she tried to get rid of them as much as she could, but no matter how much she plucked them, she just couldn’t. she didn’t know why; maybe it was because she was a lousy gardener. it didn’t matter anymore, though, as she learned how to tolerate them.
now se just paints in the garden, with hir brush gliding up the canvas with delicate strokes. se mostly painted daisies, roses, lilacs… beautiful flowers in general. se admired them (frankly, se quite missed them. ever since the poison ivy came, they’d been disappearing faster and faster), with their pretty petals and all.
they also felt scornful in a way. they knew someone else did this, but they couldn’t place a finger on who. there were many people in their life who could’ve done this for sure. they hoped poison ivy grew in their garden too.
alas, even if they wanted to, they couldn’t investigate. there was too much on her mind anyways. she couldn’t even tell you what was on her mind - all of her thoughts were meshed together like an amalgamation.
she pays no mind to it anymore - she just doesn’t care. se did at one point, but se doesn’t anymore.
maybe se was such a lousy gardener.
I’m glad I bought several house-sized boxes of kleenex yesterday. Thank you, giant head cold, for the opportunity to run through them like crazy. I had no idea one human head could produce so much snot.
